Some Things.

I went for a drive to nuri and my car wouldnt work properly so I took the dirt roads back so as not to annoy people on the main roads as i was going really slow, I saw some things.

This old shed was cool, it was next to a giant cemetary for old cars. I couldn’t get any decent pics of the cars but this is cool enough.

Hay bales, or bales of something, i’m no farmer so I don’t know these things. It’s a nice pic tho.

This is my Subaru Brumby, it is totally awesome even when it doesn’t work properly.

Night Bowls

This week my team was slightly broken, but my Dad and T-man came and played for me. This was all going good until we found out who we had to play, the infamous Rotary Club.

Last year there were half as many teams and over 8 weeks playing two teams every tuesdey night you would expect to play at least a different team every few nights, but i swear, more often than not we ended up against the Rotary team. Now these guys come out every year for the night bowls competition and as a result they aren’t too shabby at the game, they definitely know what they are doing. Our team last year was full of beginners, including myself who had only played half a season by that time, and we almost won the whole competition ( i think we were about third or fourth) and i reason that if we were alowed to play against noobs and not rotary fifty times in a row, we would have won.

Back to the future and here we are again, having come up against Rotary twice in two games. Though this time they were short two players and as a result two club members stepped in. The first, playing lead was a 1st Division bowler, and second, playing third, a 3rd Division bowler with many years experience. We were lucky that my Dad was with us because he has been playing 1st Division for a short time and managed to even out the lead position.

So we struggled for the most part and I withheld from drinking as many beers as i normally would so as to give our team a chance to win, we were off to a good start being up a few shots at the mid-way point but by the end it had evened out completely into a draw. The score in the end was 17 all, but we didn’t lose. We didn’t lose and thats all that matters.

Next week we had better be playing against noobs, one team had 32 shots up plus 20 points for a win giving them 52 points all up, where we are sitting on 17, maybe 27 if we get 10 points for a draw, but im not sure. Eitherways, we better be playing against noobs, im going for at least a 30 point win.

Oh and $2 pizzas and hot dogs were freaking awesome.

i tried to make a post last night but tumblr was being gay, now i have to go play lawn bowls all day.

Sanpellegrino

I’ve been drinking Bisleri (coca-cola version) Chinotto the last couple of weeks, its cheap and has a satisfying bitterness that always leaves you wanting more, but I seem to have bought out our local shop of the stuff as there is none left. So as I had an appointment in Nuriootpa today I thought I would be able to find some there. I looked up and down the soft drink aisle several times but could not find any, either they were out too, or just don’t stock the stuff. As I continued to look I finally spotted some chinotto, not Bisleri, but Sanpellegrino. The Bisleri type I had been buying was $2 for a 1.25 litre, the Sanpellegrino was $12 for six 200ml bottles. Six 200ml bottles is 1.2 litre. I still could not resist, and left happy as Larry would be if he had also just bought himself some chinotto.

Ricoh 35 ZF

I got this camera from an op shop in Nuriootpa called the Treasure Chest. As soon as i saw it was all like MINE and proceeded to the counter and asked how much they wanted for it. “Four dollars” the lady said. FOUR DOLLARS. I actually couldn’t believe it, I was expecting at least 10 dollars or something and I must have made a face showing my excitement which the lady mis-interpreted as she then went on to say “oh, if thats too much we can do it for $2” I was like “nah i’ll pay four dollars, thats brilliant”. I was quite happy with my new camera indeed, and I went a bought 3 rolls of film which cost me $20 and so far I have only gotten one roll developed.

This was about the same time last year and up until now I have neglected the poor thing. I finished off the roll that was in it today by taking photos around the house like: the dog, my Dad, Kate, some trees, one of my bikes, the dog again… so eventually I will get those processed also, and start another roll.

In the meantime I will try and get my old scanner working with my new computer and scan some of the negatives and some of the processed photos that I already have.

Counting Sheep Wil Make You Sleep

My friend Wil took this photo in Angaston, I stole it from his facebook and remixed the colours a bit. It’s a great photo even tho this isnt the original, the original is still just as good. Wil is a totally awesome person, and has lots of awesome traits like:

  • Totally awesome hair.
  • Thoroughly awesome Kung-Fu moves.
  • Voraciously awesome wit.
  • Awesomely lovely hair.
  • He has really nice hair.
  • A totally awesome… he is just awesome.

He is so awesome that he makes everyone around him feel almost as awesome, the only way to be as awesome as Wil is to be Wil, many have tried and ultimately failed as there can only be one, the one Wil to rule them all, one Wil to bind them, the one Wil to bring them all and in the darkness, tickle them and bite their nipples.

Little Creatures

This is what I am drinking right now, I get them from Dan Murphys for 6 Dollars. When I first tried The Little Creatures Pale Ale I instantly fell in love, it was so sweet and lovely I couldn’t believe it was butter. Then I tried their Bright Ale, with slightly less alcohol and not quite as sweet but still sweeter than most it was just much more drinkable. I now drink it almost everytime I go to Dan Murphys and the Pint size bottle is just the right amount to make you feel on top of the world.

Tanunda

Going to Tanunda today to play bowls on their synthetic green. It’s not the best green to play on since it is super fast (super slow). You can drop your bowl ever so slightly and it will power down all the way to the ditch and you think “how the hell am I going to deliver that any slower!?”. The good thing is that with a bit of heat the green might slow down (speed up) and become manageable. Which is opposite to grass which speeds up (slows down) in the heat.

Ps. In bowls, slow means fast and fast means slow. It’s measured by the time it takes the bowl to travel, if the green is fast it will travel slow and if the green is slow it will travel fast. I don’t know, im confused. But 16 seconds is slower (faster) than 12 seconds.

Ps. Also. That picture is not of Tanunda, it’s Kapunda. I just have a bunch of pictures of our club, so I thought I would use them. It’s still Bowls.

Wow I have like 3 followers now. I am so cool. Yesterday I only had one.
